Homer Skiing

Over the years we've partaken in some Homer skiing. Why? It's super pretty, and there's great peeps in Homer. I used to live there briefly but didn't ski as much then, so my ski adventures have been after moving. The first ski was staying in the yurt and bopping up Grace Ridge. Beautiful views but at the bottom the trail was quite twisty to ski and icy.

The better ski was out of Jackolof Bay. Kelsey took us across in her boat and we book packed in on and off rain. It was cool to see Kelsey in her habitat, especially because I know nothing about boats or the ocean. It was super early season, so it was pretty sparse. We walked to the turn off from the road on the way there, and hitch hiked the little bit on the way back.

The most recent trip to Homer we planned to ski Poot Peak, but it was late March and I weird mix of not enough snow to skin consistently, but enough to pot hole. We opted to hang around the beach and yurt instead, but a future trip could include snowshoes to bridge the gap (if the word snowshoes doesn't make you flinch that much).
