I was subletting from Catherine for the fall and she let me use her gravel bike while she was gone (so extremely nice). Great timing, because earlier in the summer I had hurt my foot and never rested it between personal and work trips. So I mostly switched to being a biker to seek out the falls colors this year. Ivona and I biked Petersville Road with our camping stuff, and hiked up into the tundra. During the first part there's an ATV track and then tundra walking after that. A super beautiful view of Denali, special to see the AK Range from a different angle per usual. During the fall months this is a popular hunting area. We spent the night up there and then biked back the next morning. I think we parked and biked 25 miles each way, but you can make this longer or shorter. We didn't go fully down Petersville, because we wanted to hike up and set up the tent before too late. I didn't realize the bike out was uphill, but the bike back was much faster.
The next weekend Jordi and I biked the Denali Highway Paxon to Cantwell.
